“Gen Silent” Screening at Hope Church

Gen Silent will be presented free of charge on Sept. 24 at 7 pm at Hope United Church in Sturgeon Bay. Door County has one of the fastest growing populations of senior citizens in our state. Gen Silent, a critically acclaimed documentary, is about aging in the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered community. It follows six seniors who identify as LGBT as they try to navigate the care system. The film shows how the generation who fought the hardest to come out is going back in the closet to survive.

Light refreshments will be served at the screening, and a discussion facilitated by Christine Smith, professor of Psychology and Human Development at UW-Green Bay, will follow the movie.
