$1.5 Million Goal Nearly Met for Northern Door YMCA Program Center

The YMCA has raised $1.3 million of the $1.5 million necessary toward Phase Two Capital improvements at the Northern Door Program Center. Several weeks ago, the Y received a challenge gift, where every new dollar donated up to $200,000 would be matched, which has helped bring the addition of a 3,500-square-foot Lifestyle Center closer to fruition.

“We are pleased with our progress to date and remain hopeful that we will be able to break ground for the new Lifestyle Center before the arrival of winter weather,” said Drew Richmond, executive director of the Northern Door Program Center.

In addition to the new program space for cardio and free weight equipment, Phase Two includes replacing the gym roof, installing new roof top air handling units, renovating the main shower rooms, as well as updating restrooms. The goal is to have the expanded facility up and running by next summer. Individuals interested in making a contribution to the campaign are encouraged to contact Drew Richmond at 920.868.3660 or [email protected].
