10th Annual Gills Rock ArtFest at Charlene’s Gallery Ten

On Saturday and Sunday, September 4 – 5, from 10 am – 5 pm the public is invited to stroll the grounds at Charlene’s Gallery Ten for the 10th Annual Gills Rock ArtFest. Plein air painters, custom jewelry makers, potters, and even a blacksmith will all be at work outdoors, displaying their pieces. Chuck Sully will be also be displaying and selling his freshly baked artisan breads.

Then at 5 pm on Saturday, artists will turn to the immense black asphalt of Gallery Ten’s parking lot with chalk in hand. Filmmaker, Stephen Kastner will shoot the action and be joined by exhibiting photographer Jenny Urbanek who will equip everyone with flashlights and teach participants how to create timed exposures after sunset.

Local artist, poet, musician and exhibiting drum maker, Ed DiMaio will lead a drum circle that will end the evening’s festivities around a bonfire.

On Sunday at 1 pm, Shannon Molter will present a “Rustic Runway Review” of her original “green” fashion wear. She is known for including a variety of natural found objects in her work as lead fashion designer at the Milwaukee Art Museum

There is no charge to attend any of the Gills Rock ArtFest events.

The gallery, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm (closed Tuesdays), is located at 12625 Highway 42 in Gills Rock. GT Coffee complements the gallery, serving espresso drinks and Door County cherry pie by-the-slice daily from 8 am – 5 pm with free Wi-Fi.
