- The Door/Kewaunee Drug Task Force announced that it recently concluded a series of investigations involving the sale of illegal drugs in the Sturgeon Bay area. On Dec. 8, 2015, drug task force investigators executed a search warrant on an apartment in the 400 block of N. 7th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. Two men, ages 20 and 23, were taken into custody on multiple charges including delivery of marijuana, delivery of MDMA (commonly referred to as “ecstasy” or “molly”), maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver. On Dec. 17, 2015, investigators executed a residential search warrant on Hwy. HH in the Town of Sevastopol. A man, age 22, and woman, age 21, were taken into custody at the residence. An indoor marijuana growing operation was discovered inside the home. The two face charges that include manufacturing marijuana, delivery of marijuana, delivery of MDMA, and possession of MDMA with the intent to deliver. On Dec. 18, 2015, investigators executed a residential search warrant on Cherry Boulevard in the Town of Gardner. A 28-year-old male was taken into custody at the residence for possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver. And finally, during the early morning hours of Dec. 23, 2015, investigators culminated an investigation involving the distribution of heroin with a “buy bust operation.” A 23-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman was taken into custody on a charge of conspiracy to deliver heroin, and possession of heroin with the intent to deliver. The woman’s 26-year-old boyfriend, who was already in custody on related drug charges, will be referred to the Door County District Attorneys’ Office on three counts of delivering heroin to an undercover drug informant. All the individuals have been referred to the Door County District Attorney’s office for charges. Their appearances are pending in Door County Circuit Court.
- Officers from the Sturgeon Bay Police Department and Door County Sheriff’s Department distributed food cards during the week of Christmas to local families in need of some assistance. The food cards were donated by a local secret Santa and Econo Foods.
