Annual Appeal for Habitat for Humanity

Door County Habitat for Humanity has had a terrific response to its annual appeal and as of Dec. 22 has raised 20 percent of the goal. As Door County Habitat for Humanity enters its 23rd year, the goal is to provide a home for the Miller family. Additionally, they plan to complete 12 A Brush with Kindness projects.

Both the home construction and A Brush with Kindness programs help improve families’ housing conditions. Through volunteer labor and donations, materials and labor are provided to construct or refurbish homes and complete A Brush with Kindness projects. Partner families invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their Habitat house and the houses of others. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses.

Please consider renewing or sending a year-end contribution to the annual Habitat for Humanity giving campaign. Sharing your time and/or financial resources will contribute toward the thousands of volunteer hours and the dollars necessary to fulfill their mission in 2016.
