“Cosmic Collisions” and Ski for Free at Crossroads

On Jan. 15 at Crossroads at Big Creek, the film “Cosmic Collisions” will be screened at 2 pm. The film will feature astronomy. This production, created by the American Museum of Natural History and NASA and narrated by Robert Redford, explains the many collisions which have resulted in the solar system as we know it. The film has stunning images. The screening is free and open to the public.

The Crossroads Ski for Free program lends, free of charge, an array of ski and snowshoe equipment in sizes to fit ages 3 through large adult on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 – 3:30 pm. When trail conditions permit, go to the Crossroads Maintenance Building where volunteers will fit skiers with equipment, share a few pointers and a trail map. When finished, return the equipment and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. This program is sponsored by Friends of Crossroads and the Door County Silent Sports Alliance.

The Collins Learning Center at Crossroads, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4:30 pm daily and during scheduled events. Hikers and dog walkers are welcome, but are asked to avoid walking on groomed ski trails. For more information visit crossroadsatbigcreek.com.
