St. John Bosco Celebrates National Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 30-Feb. 6

National Catholic Schools week, Jan. 30 – Feb. 6, is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Through various events, St. John Bosco in Sturgeon Bay will focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the church, community and nation. The school will have entertainer and educator Randy Peterson as an artist in residence during this special time. Peterson will work with the students to create class and school songs, and share his love and knowledge of music.

Events planned for the week are: Jan. 30, 5 – 7 pm, Spaghetti Dinner at St. Joseph Church, students will provide music for the 4 pm mass and spaghetti will be served after; Feb. 4, 6 pm, St. John Bosco Gym, Peterson will lead the school in songs written and performed by students; Feb. 6, 10:30 am – family movie event with a special viewing of Kung Fu Panda at Sturgeon Bay Cinema, $6 admission covers the cost of the movie and a popcorn/drink snack box.
