Lodge at Leathem Smith to Hold Benefit for Michele Bogart

The friends and family of Michele and Tom “Bogie” Bogart will hold a cancer benefit in Michele’s honor on Jan. 23 at The Lodge at Leathem Smith in Sturgeon Bay from 4 – 8 pm. Bogie is the owner/operator of Malvetz Furniture and for more than 20 years, he was an organizer of the Aloha Softball Tournament (now called the MAC). His commitment to raising funds to help those in need throughout the county is legendary. He was able to devote so many hours to help give back due to the support of his wife.

Michele was diagnosed earlier this year with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma. Since then, she has been receiving chemotherapy and radiation. She is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove a kidney.

With the ongoing treatments and the anticipated surgery recuperation, Michele has not been able to return to work and Bogie’s work hours have been reduced as he tends to Michele’s needs. All funds generated by the benefit will be presented to Michele and Bogie to help with the mounting medical and living expenses.

Tickets will be available at the door for $20. The benefit will include live and silent auctions and other raffles. For more information call Paula McCarty at 920.493.0198. Monetary donations can be mailed to Bogart Cancer Benefit, PO Box 105, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. Donations will also be accepted at all Associated Bank locations and can be made online through gofundme.com/hkfcg94k.
