On Feb. 27, 1 – 3 pm, at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, a workshop will be held on using, maintaining and expanding the Ice Age National Trail.
The workshop, titled “Exploring the Ice Age Trail,” will provide a broad base of information about hiking and maintaining the trail, including a brief overview of the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA), the trail and some basic geological formations. There will also be first-hand stories from a local 1,000-miler and her adventures along the way and trail resources will be available.
The IATA is the nonprofit, private partner whose mission is to create, support and protect the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
The $5 program fee includes beverages. The workshop is free for Wisconsin Maritime Museum members. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is located at 75 Maritime Dr. in Manitowoc.
