Explore Appel’s Bluff with a Ridges Naturalist Feb. 21

Make the most of these dwindling days of winter and join a Ridges naturalist on Feb. 21 at 2 pm for a guided hike through the beautiful snowy landscape of Appel’s Bluff.

Recently acquired by The Ridges, this 67-acre tract features dense lowland cedar forest with ephemeral ponds and wetlands in the southern portion and upland forests of maple and birch in the middle. This diversity provides opportunities to see a variety of habitats during a moderately easy hike. Wear good hiking boots. If conditions are right, snowshoes are available for a $5 rental fee. Call ahead to reserve. Hike fees are $5 for Ridges members and $8 for the general public. Children under 18 hike free.

Programs meet at The Cook-Fuller Nature Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor. For more information or to register, visit or call 920.839.2802.
