14th Annual Crop Walk to Fight Hunger Oct. 4

Six churches in Northern Door County are supporting the 2008 Crop Walk to help the Church World Service.

People all over the world are walking to get clean water, to work in the fields and to collect firewood. Together we can make a difference.

Child survival programs using simple, inexpensive health measures save millions of lives. International advocacy campaigns on landmines and reduction of third world debt show a growing support for addressing the root cause of hunger.

Northern Door Church members will meet Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9 am at Newport State Park lot #3 to walk two or five miles.

Your crop walk financial support goes to many places around the world, where food, water and medical assistance is needed.

Feed My People of Door County will receive 25 percent of the pledges from the Crop Walk. Last year Northern Door Church members gave $5470 to Crop Walk. Contributions to CRS/Crop provide tools of hope.
