150 Walkers to Participate in Challenge Walk MS

With a goal of generating more than $400,000 for Multiple Sclerosis-related research, more than 150 people will wind their way through the peninsula Sept. 20 – 22 as part of the 6th annual Challenge Walk MS. Challenge Walk MS is a three-day, 50-mile walk that is one of only nine held in the U.S. each year.

Participants walk 20 miles on Friday, 20 miles on Saturday and 10 miles on Sunday. To participate, each person commits to raising or donating a minimum of $1,500 each, in return, they are treated to a weekend at Alpine Resort and a celebration lunch at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club.

Ann and Dave Freigang from Brookfield, Wis., are two “rookie” walkers this year, joining the event in honor of Ann’s mom, who was diagnosed with MS more than 20 years ago. Walking under the team name “D’s Angels” in honor of Ann’s mom, the couple has raised close to $9,000. For more information, call 262.369.4400 or visit challengewalkMSwi.org.
