15th Annual Cherry Fest in Jacksonport

Join the Jacksonport Historical Society (JHS) on the “quiet side” of the county as it celebrates Cherry Fest on Saturday, August 1 from 9 am – 4 pm.

Fun, history, food, and music will abound at his annual festival. Enjoy the bakery booth featuring fresh-baked cherry kolaches, cherry pie and ice cream, and cherry sundaes. The Jacksonport Women’s Club will also be making and serving fresh “hot on the spot” funnel cakes. A variety of cherry jams, cherry pie filling and other cherry products for sale to benefit the JHS. The lunch booth will open at 10 am with cherry hamburgers, cherry brats, and cold beverages provided by Door County Custom Meats.

Activities include an arts & craft fair, wagon rides by Mayberry’s Carriages, the live music of the Birch Creek Ambassadors, Matt Wahl, and the Mike Miller Band, and a penny hunt for younger children.

The JHS will also be hosting a book signing of Phyllis Zatlin’s Piecing Together the Butler Puzzle. Historical events include a teepee and live demonstrations of blacksmithing, cooking, leatherwork, and fire starting by Joe Jeanquart and Randy Alexander in the Erskine Rest Area.
