In its 30th year, Fish Creek Winter Festival has grown to become one of the peninsula’s largest fundraising events for multiple Door County nonprofit organizations. Aside from the Fish Creek Civic Association (FCCA), nine area nonprofits collectively raised nearly $20,000 through games and other festive endeavors.
“The funds raised at ‘All Things Chocolate’ at Fish Creek Winter Festival allow the Gibraltar Historical Association to provide consistently excellent programming of historical events. It is truly fundraising at its best,” said Laurie Buske, director of the Gibraltar Historical Association.
The FCCA welcomes new nonprofit groups and their activities, concessions or other unique contributions to the festival every year. This year’s nonprofit group additions included: the Friends of Gibraltar’s Fish Creek Scavenger Hunt; Door County Sled Dogs Meet & Greet; and Casey Weddig’s Half Marathon for the Eagle Tower Pledge Fundraiser.
