2011 Community Mosiac Project Deadline Approaches

Later this summer, the Hardy will be hosting an exhibit that is in some ways the polar opposite of a juried show: the 2011 Community Mosaic Project. The project invites anyone from the community to complete a canvas for inclusion in the large-scale mosaic of canvases on display at the gallery in July and August. The canvases, which were donated by the Artists Guild of Sturgeon Bay, are due June 27. The project seeks to raise awareness of the arts by reaching out to our local community and encouraging participation from any member of the community; and to provide the non-profit organization with funds through the sale of the miniature artworks.

There are no restrictions regarding subject matter or the kinds of materials one can use to create their work of art, except that it must be appropriate for display at the gallery, created using the canvas supplied and must not exceed the 6-inch by 6-inch dimension.

Canvases must be returned on or before June 27 to any of the following locations: The Artists Guild in downtown Sturgeon Bay (open Mon. – Sat., 9 am – 6 pm and Sun., 11 am – 4 pm), the Hardy Gallery on Anderson Dock, the Hardy office in Ephraim (open Mon. – Fri., 9 am – 5 pm), and the Mill Road Gallery in Sister Bay.
