2016 Door County Half Marathon Registration Opens Oct. 1st

The time to lock in your spot in the May 7, 2016, Door County Half Marathon is coming soon.

Registration for the 9th annual race in Peninsula State Park opens Oct. 1, 2015. This beautiful, challenging race is capped at 2,300 registrants and has filled far in advance of race day each of the last five years.

Runners who take advantage of early bird pricing by Nov. 1 save $20 off day-of registration – if it’s not already full.

“I’ll never miss this race,” says Ross McDowell, owner of Run Away Shoes and organizer of many races in the Fox Cities. He’s not alone. Writers like Jenny Hadfield of Runner’s World, Tom Held of the Wisconsin Bike Federation, and publications such as Competitor, Silent Sports, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, have hailed the race as one of the best in the Midwest.

The USATF-certified course is run entirely on closed roads that guide runners past historic landmarks, through peaceful forests, and atop the Niagara Escarpment to reveal spectacular bluff-top views of Lake Michigan.

Those seeking extra motivation can join the Run for A Cause program and run for charity. The program has raised more than $92,000 in the last six years.
