2018 Door County Treasure Hunt This Weekend

Go all out and compete to win top cash prizes, or take your time meandering the central section of the peninsula, in the second annual Door County Treasure Hunt on Sept. 29.

“Last year’s event was our first event, and it was more successful than we could have ever hoped. People had a blast,” said Write On, Door County’s Executive Director, Jerod Santek.

Check-in begins at 9 am at the Door County Fairgrounds in Sturgeon Bay. Team members will receive their clue booklets at 10 am and can begin strategizing their routes and heading out to find clue answers. Each team needs a smartphone for research and to send in their answers via a Treasure Hunt app.

A light picnic supper and party at the Door County Fairgrounds will finish off the event. High scorers will win cash prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250. The clues are kept secret until starting time on the morning of the hunt. Each clue is assigned points based on difficulty and teams can pick and choose what clues they wish to follow.

Registration for the Treasure Hunt is still open. Teams can consist of 2 to 6 people, all traveling in one car and all ages are welcome. For more information and to register visit doorcountytreasurehunt.com.
