2019 Zion Hymn Sing Raises $1,636

Bruce Frudden (left), chair of the Missions Committee at Zion United Methodist Church, presented a check for $1,636 to Bob Gamble, who represented the Door County Veterans Service Council in receiving a donation from the free-will offering at Zion’s July 7 Hymn Sing, plus $240 from the Ken Beausang Memorial Fund. Caroline Polster also presented a check for $100 from the Calvary-Zion United Methodist Women. Since 2002, the semiannual hymn sings have raised close to $35,000 for local nonprofits. This contribution for veterans’ services is the most ever raised by a single hymn sing, besting a 2017 record of $1,652, when the Veterans Service Council was also the recipient.
