21012 – 2013 Emily Dickinson Poetry Series Announced

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC) is pleased to announce an exciting list of featured poets for 2012-2013, the fourth year of the series. Four new voices will highlight the series including Marilyn Taylor, the 2009-2010 Poet Laureate of Wisconsin, Rusty McKenzie, who has published three poetry books, Chuck Sully, a bread maker and sailor, and Steven Link, who owns the Untitled Bookshop in Sturgeon Bay. The other seven featured readers have all read previously in the series.

Each year UUFDC sponsors these monthly poetry readings named in honor of this famous poet. The readings are held at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of each month and include a featured poet for first half the program, followed by an open mic. The series begins each year in April to commemorate National Poetry Month.

The schedule for 2012-2013 is as follows: April 11, Barbara Larsen; May 9, Larry Eriksson; June 13, Nancy Rafal; July 1, Phil Hansotia; August 8, Rusty McKenzie; September 12, Sharon Auberle and Ralph Murre; October 10, Marilyn Taylor; November 14, Chuck Sully; December 12, Steven Link; January 9, Estella Lauter; February 13, Youth Readers; March 13, Rolf Olson.
