The Friends of Gibraltar (FOG) will host a Holiday Arts Fair on November 27 and 28 at the Sister Bay Village Hall. The 24th annual event will bring together 25 artists in one location for holiday shopping and family fun. The Holiday Art Fair will be open for a local shopping experience on Friday, November 27 from 10 am – 5 pm and Saturday, November 28 from 10 am – 4 pm.
This year, visitors will find a wonderful selection of arts and crafts created by some of the many talented artists in Door County. Friends of Gibraltar will be selling tote bags, magnets, and T shirts by Gibraltar Student artists. And, perpetuating the idea of shopping locally and shopping handmade, artists showing their work include: Amanda DeWitt, sterling silver jewelry; Kim and Tamie Pedler, beach stone, sterling and gold jewelry; Jenifer Dahl, Mary Beth Mead, and Shelly Vanderlinden, beaded jewelry; Jeanne and David Aurelius and Reneé Schwaller, pottery; Nora Ahlen and Patty Elliot, woolens, knit and woven fiber art; Mary Ellen Sisulak, leather purses and silk quilted scarves; Kari Anderson, watercolors; Bonnie Abramson, handmade soaps; Nancy Turk, mittens out of recycled material; Phylis Fitzerald and friends, handmade crafts; Pat and Ken Klitzman, Santa carvings and sand pieces; Nancy Akerly, small exquisite boxes; Marcia Faber, hand-painted chairs and items; Jane Penovich, vintage style aprons; Char Rowe, fused and dichroic glass jewelry; Cheryl Bishop, Early American Art Paintings; Ed Schmidt, wooden folk art; and Kathy Stanazesk, fused glass.
In addition to the array of artwork, patrons are encouraged to partake in the delicious lunch served from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Proceeds from the lunch will benefit FOG and are used to provide Gibraltar School students with unique, experiential learning opportunities and to sponsor artist residencies.
