Celebrate all things root beer when the Door County Historical Society hosts its annual Root Beer Festival July 6, 10 am – 3 pm, at the Heritage Village at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.
Explore the history of root beer, play bottle-cap games, listen to live music, sample six varieties of root beer, and indulge in root-beer floats, cookies and root-beer pulled pork.
The Madden Tool Museum will be open; you can learn about antique tools and take one of your own to try to stump the experts. The village chapel will host a vintage hat display, and you can watch the blacksmiths create their wares.
Member admission is free; guest adult admission is $6.50. Tickets for root-beer floats and flights are $4 each. Food will be available for an additional cost. To volunteer, call 920.421.2332.
