There’s an entirely new side to Echo now that he is free-range lobby cat. With the adoption of 11 cats in late August, the shelter was able to release several long-term cage cats into the lobby. The freedom to experience a larger world and meet arriving visitors has brought out the best in Echo. He was a surrender from Sturgeon Bay in June. Echo is a beautiful longhaired neutered male, born in October 2000. He is front-declawed. He misses the delights of a home and an owner who will share a chair with him.

Marvin is a merry Beagle boy. He is a stray found on 5th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, arriving at the humane society on August 16. He is 3 to 5 years old and 34 pounds. He loves giving vocal updates when someone enters the kennel or when he believes it’s time to go outside. As a typical Beagle, Marvin thinks with his nose, and concentrates on sniffing his way around the outside trails on his walks around the shelter grounds.

Adoption costs are $85 for cats and kittens, $120 for dogs, and $60 for puppies. All animals are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. Dogs have had a behavioral assessment.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD)
in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org.
