Rooney is an old soul in spirit, patient and wise. He’s seen a lot in his seven years, and now will be a boon companion in a loving new home. This neutered male Lab mix was found exhausted and spent along Highway 42/57 by the Marathon gas station in Southern Door. His bleeding paws told the story of an extended period on the run outside. He has blossomed at the shelter, endearing himself to all who meet him. Rooney is gentle, loves a good romp outside, and then happily comes back as soon as door is opened.

She was someone’s pet at one point, but then was left to fend for herself with very limited resources. This sweet gray and white female named Lovey has all four paws declawed. She was found in Forestville in late October 2011. Lovey is 8-10 years old, calm and content to watch the activity around her.
