Miss Blue
“Energetic affection” is promised to the families adopting these two young dogs. Each is filled with joy when meeting new people, having new adventures, and then curling up with loved ones at the end of the day. Summer is a perfect time to adopt a new dog, giving everyone a chance to get to know each other, learn procedures, and bond well before the start of a school season.
Miss Blue combines black lab and Blue Tick Hound in a svelte, pretty package of affection. Miss Blue is only 6 months old so she will be a loyal and friendly companion for years to come in her new family. Surrendered to the shelter in June because of allergies in her previous family, Miss Blue did well with both children and other dogs. She is happiest when playing fetch until the thrower’s arms are completely tired out. Miss Blue has been vaccinated, spayed, micro-chipped, and had a small cyst surgically removed.
Remington
It’s fairly unusual for Door County Humane Society to have an English Setter available, so Remington has been a real treat to get to know. He is a 15-month-old surrender from a family who did not have the time for a dog, and thus he was crated or tied outside for much of the time. Remmi is a blithe spirit who yearns for that family or individual with whom he can be best friends. He’s smart and funny. Remmi has just been neutered, and is ready to be adopted.
Adoption costs are $90 for cats and kittens, $150 for dogs, and $60 for puppies. All animals are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. Dogs have had a behavioral assessment.

A brat fry to benefit Door County Humane Society will take place on July 7 at Econofoods in Sturgeon Bay from 10 am – 2 pm. There is an urgent need for canned pate-style cat food.
