4th Annual “Giving for Sara” Food Drive in Kewaunee County

Kewaunee County Human Services is asking for a hand with helping local residents in need, through the 4th Annual “Giving for Sara” Food Drive. The holiday fundraiser is in the memory of Sara Malay, who was serving as the Aging Services Unit Director for Kewaunee County, when she unexpectedly died on Oct. 7, 2013. In the last three years, Kewaunee County Human Services has collected and donated more than four tons of food to the Kewaunee County Food Pantry in Sara’s memory. “Time will not erase our memories of Sara Malay. Her dedication and compassion for the population she served was admirable,” said Kim Vandermoss, economic support specialist, Kewaunee County Human Services. Kewaunee County Human Services is also collecting household supplies and accepting monetary donations, as part of their initiative to assist others in Kewaunee County. Checks can be made out to the Kewaunee County Food Pantry and dropped off at Kewaunee County Human Services, 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee, WI 54216. For every contribution to the Kewaunee County Food Pantry, donors can place an ornament provided by Kewaunee County Human Services on the Christmas “Memory Tree” in the lobby or bring an ornament of their own to decorate the tree, if they wish. Donations can be made through Dec. 28, 2016.
