Remember the weather last November? As many of us were shopping for Thanksgiving dinners, this stray cat was hunkered down trying to stay warm in Sturgeon Bay. On November 21, the day before he was found and brought to the Door County Humane Society, the evening temperature was 25 degrees. Now this grey and black tabby named Eddie is warm and social, and eagerly awaiting a Thanksgiving in a new home.
Eddie is only a year old, neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Free to roam in the shelter lobby, Eddie checks out all the visitors, hoping they will notice him, but so far he has been disappointed. If yours is the home Eddie is waiting for, stop in at the shelter.
Adoption costs are $90 for cats and $150 for dogs. All animals are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. Dogs have had a behavioral assessment.
The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111, visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org or “Like” the Door County Humane Society on Facebook.
Are you a dog owner or animal lover? Join the Door County Humane Society for “Bark In The Bark” on Saturday, August 25 at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay. Registration cost is $25, and it is a blast for all dogs and their humans! The funds raised in this annual event help sustain the work of the Door County Humane Society into 2013, benefitting the lost cats and dogs like Eddie.
