More than 170 felines in a facility built for 28 cats; yes, the Door County Humane Society is packed with kittens and cats. The second “kitten season” is underway with entire litters arriving each day. Long hair or short; black, gray, orange or calico; male or female – all types of kittens are available.

Lively and infinitely curious to learn about every new person or thing, the kittens love the attention they receive from staff and volunteers. What they don’t know is how much more fun it will be in a home with a real family.

While the variety is almost endless, each Door County Humane Society kitten is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. The Humane Society has a firm policy that no kitten can be adopted until these steps toward good health and responsible ownership are taken.

Adoption costs are $90 for cats and $150 for dogs.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111, visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org or “Like” the Door County Humane Society on Facebook.

The Door County Humane Society’s wish list includes scoopable cat litter, paper towels, and bleach.
