Nimble

All stray animals coming into the Door County Humane Society immediately receive names. It’s a way of making them individuals and aiming toward the day they will find a forever family.

Three brothers who arrived in early September from Brussels are grouped as the “N” kittens: Napoleon, Nimble and Nibbles. They were born in August and will be available in a month after neutering and full vaccinations. Napoleon and Nimble are short-hair guys, while sibling Nibbles is a long-hair boy. Potential adopters may meet them now, and submit an adoption application. When the application is approved and adoption fee paid, that kitten is reserved only for that adopter.

Adoption costs are $90 for cats and $150 for dogs. Every animal is spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Free 30 days of pet insurance after adoption may be continued at owner’s option.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111, visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org or “Like” the Door County Humane Society on Facebook.

Friday, October 26 is the last day to vote via Facebook in the Purina Rally to the Rescue “Tales of Greatness” contest. Pudding, a cat adopted from the Door County Humane Society, is one of four finalists, having saved her owner’s life after a diabetic seizure. The winning shelter/rescue group receives $5,000 in Purina food, which would make a significant difference to the operating budget of the Door County shelter.
