Chester

Patrician in appearance and patient in demeanor, Chester is one of the most powerful Door County Humane Society success stories of 2012. This 6 to 8 year old English Setter was discovered lying in a ditch along County Road C on Election Day. A cold rain was falling on his limp, emaciated body and he was clinging to life. How did this now-beautiful boy come to be in such a place? We will never know; the animals at the shelter do not come with bios attached.

In the past six weeks, Chester has added 16 lbs. to his slender frame and blossomed into a calm, loving gentleman. His body has healed from the trauma, and his spirit is strong. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, and fully vaccinated. Chester is truly special and we hope his forever family finds him very quickly.

Dante

A family of four kittens arrived from Sevastopol in mid-November, each with a distinctive coat and personality. Meet the adorable Danielle, Davey, Dante, and Dandelion. These cats were probably born in August and are now 4 to 5 months old. Each has been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated.

The Town of Sevastopol is in discussions regarding their 2013 funding to the Humane Society, but that won’t affect the quality of care given to these kittens. Please come meet the “D” kittens for yourself!

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111, visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org or “Like” the Door County Humane Society on Facebook.

The Door County Humane Society will be closed on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), but will be open on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
