Pretty Girl

Yes, animals do come to the shelter from Washington Island. That’s the answer to a question often posed to the Humane Society staff. In mid-March, two sociable cats crossed over on the ferry and traveled all the way to our location across from Cherryland Airport. The owner of Pretty Girl and Big Boy could no longer care for these cats, but loved them enough to surrender them to the shelter.

A 6-year-old tabby/tortoiseshell, Pretty Girl obviously received lots of cuddle time on the island. She’s sweet and good-natured, and would fit perfectly in a new home with other cats.

Big Boy

Her pal Big Boy is 8-years-old, and has been diagnosed with a possible heart murmur. Our cattery staff can provide more details about caring for Big Boy.

Adoption costs are $90 for cats and $150 for dogs. All animals are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped.
