Cat colony #1 has a large window facing the entrance to the new building at the Door County Humane Society. There are four colonies of cats right now, soon to be expanded to six. Two of the residents in colony #1 are Dot and Smurfette.

Dot just passed her one-year anniversary here at the shelter. She arrived in May 2012 as a stray from Sevastopol. Dot is approximately 2 to 6 years old, a vivid calico girl. Smurfette came in to the Humane Society in April, a stray from the City of Sturgeon Bay. Smurfette is front declawed and 5 to 6 years old.
