April

This four-year-old girl has seen some of Northeast Wisconsin in her travels. Found in 2009 along Sunny Point Road in the Town of Egg Harbor, she was brought into the shelter and named April. After spay surgery and vaccinations, a Luxemburg family adopted April and she became a Kewaunee County resident.

As happens from time to time, the family’s circumstances changed, making it impossible to care for a pet. The adoption contract with the Door County Humane Society requires for any pet, regardless of original adoption date, be returned to the Door County Humane Society. April came back to the shelter in October 2013.

April is an eight-pound, orange tabby with a white bib, and jade-green eyes. She is keeping company with the other cats in colony #1, but is always ready for her next adventure, wherever that may take her. The cat adoption special is two cats for $90.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.
