Bear

Can’t you sense Bear’s energy behind those intense eyes and legs poised to leap for the next Frisbee? Bear retains his puppy liveliness naturally because he’s only 1 1/2 years old, a recent surrender from Algoma. His previous owner said she didn’t have enough time for him, and that’s something we’d want potential new adopters to keep in mind.

Bear is a mix of Rat Terrier/American Blue Heeler, breeds that need a job to do. His genetic history demands that this intelligent, alert dog be kept happy with challenges and activity. This is not the dog for a sedentary individual. Trips to the dog park, long leash walks along a beach, and many tennis ball retrieving sessions will keep Bear a happy camper.

He’s a medium-size dog, scheduled for neuter surgery this week. Bear is affectionate, bright and animated. Are you ready for a dog that is up for anything? Come in to DCHS to meet Mr. Bear! The dog adoption fee is $150.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

On May 10, 12 – 2 pm, there will be a Kitten Baby Shower at the Door County Humane Society. Come to the shelter for treats, treats, naming opportunities and to celebrate beautiful baby kittens.
