Whew, that was close! The Door County Humane Society is grateful a kind person found young stray Kipper running loose on the west side of Sturgeon Bay and brought him to them. This baby is only 7 months old and with all the traffic and unfamiliar fireworks noises, he might not have made it to his first birthday. Now Kipper is safe and wearing a bandana for his portrait.

After arriving at the Humane Society in mid-June, Kipper spent eight days waiting for someone to reclaim him. When no one called he became a DCHS dog, meaning he would receive a complete veterinarian check and then be neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Kipper shows his appreciation with enthusiastic ball chases out in the fenced yard, and he’ll jump a foot-high to volunteer for car rides to the drive-thru. Kipper is a hound mix, and active, bright and full of puppy curiosity. Does that sound like a fit for your family?

Dog adoption fee is $150. The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

Sparkly glitter tattoos to benefit the Door County Humane Society will be on sale on July 3 & 4 at Something Fishy, located on Highway 42 in Egg Harbor.
