Tortoiseshell girls just add a side of sass to their dignified appearance. Ocarina, a 5-year-old beauty found at Renard’s Cheese in June 2013, proves the point. She was adopted in September, but returned four months later because she doesn’t like other pets. And really, if you had a cat as special as Ocarina, why would you need anyone else?

When you visit the Door County Humane Society, Ocarina is in colony #1. Cat adoption fee is $90.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

“Catching Our Tales” – a joint project with Write On, Door County – will be held on Aug. 9 at 10:30 am for kids 5 to 11 years old.
