Enzy

Etsy and Enzy are two of about 15 cats calling the Green Bay area their temporary home. Through the first eight months of this year, 128 cats found new homes from the Door County Humane Society satellite facility at PetSmart located across from Bay Square Mall. This additional facility, situated in a larger metropolitan area, is incalculably important to the adoption success of the Door County Humane Society. The adoption process, reference checks, and costs are identical when adopting from PetSmart.

Several times each week, cats and kittens are transported from Sturgeon Bay to Ashwaubenon. In 2013, the total number of adoptions from PetSmart was 252, compared to 231 at Sturgeon Bay headquarters. And who makes all these happy new homes possible? A group of incredible volunteers who staff the adoption center each evening and on weekends. These dedicated individuals come to help homeless cats after their regular daytime work is over. Thank you to PetSmart and our selfless volunteers for this tremendous work.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.
