Nothing black about this Friday, according to Balto. As you’d expect with his genetic make-up, this three-year-old Husky/Malamute mix boy loves the cold weather and playing outside with his precious blue dolphin squeaky toy. Balto was a surrender due to financial hardship; he has been with older kids and loved playing with them for hours. Balto is a solid 61 lbs. but walks well on a leash, socializing with people he meets along the way. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Dog adoption fee is $150.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

The Door County Humane Society’s Holiday Open House for the community is Saturday, Dec. 6 from 12 – 4 pm. Tour the shelter, enjoy refreshments, and meet the cutest kittens ever. Families invited. There’s no cost to attend.
