Sharp? Never! Mild and mellow is Cheddar, an orange male tabby. With all four paws declawed, he was a loved and esteemed pet sometime in his past life. Then he escaped or was abandoned to the streets of Sturgeon Bay. Now about six years old, Cheddar was found on Alabama Place and brought to safety at the Door County Humane Society in October. And he’s a hugger! Visitors to cat colony #5 who sit with Cheddar for a while will be rewarded with a soft hug around the neck. One-half of Cheddar’s adoption fee has been underwritten by a friend of the shelter from Sheboygan.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

There’s a deal on cat adoption fees at Door County Humane Society from Dec. 17 – 31. When your adoption application for a cat has been approved, pull a candy cane at the front counter to see what discount or prize you receive!
