Five years old and looking for love in all the right places is Pinky the poodle. She dances with anticipation when the leash comes out for a walk, but we have to be honest…she’ll be asking to be picked up and carried after only a modest distance. If she had her choice, Pinky’s dainty little feet would never touch the floor again; she’s a natural at nestling into your arms. Pinky and several pals were surrendered to DCHS earlier this month when their owner retired from the breeding business. After a bath and brushing session with the kennel staff, Pinky received a bright fuchsia collar as a reward. She is so proud of her accessory. Pinky enjoys playing with her toys and has been around children. She weighs just 7 lbs. A spay surgery appointment is coming up for Pinky but adoption applications are being accepted now. Dog adoption fee is $150.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.
