9th Degree Black Belt Visits YMCA

Hanshi 9th dan Kevin McGrath of New York, NY recently promoted 13 karate students on August 16, 2008 at the Northern Door YMCA in Fish Creek. McGrath is a 9th degree black belt who studied under Peter Urban, one of the first people who brought Karate to the United States. McGrath ran the testing along with Shaun Koulias, YMCA Karate Instructor and owner and operator of Door County Martial Arts Center. Koulias trained with McGrath when he lived in New York and McGrath travels to Door County often to assist him with testing and promotions.
