A Celebration of Community

On Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 pm, the Door County Auditorium in Fish Creek will host a free concert entitled, “A Celebration of Community.” The concert, sponsored by Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC), will feature three international touring musicians, along with a lineup of Door County musicians.

Julie Gold, known for her song “From A Distance,” which won a Grammy for “Song of the Year” in 1991, will bring her talent to the stage. Dorothy Scott, voted #1 in the “Local Chart Section” of Rolling Stones Magazine, will present a variety of genres in her performance, from pop to folk to blues to alternative. Hans Christian, cellist and producer, will combine the cello with electronics and instruments from around the world to create his unique sound.

Door County musicians performing include Early Thomas, Mike Bleck, Katie Dahl, Julian Hagen, Ed DiMiao, Kevin Lukes, and the children from “Art for Health.”

“Ministry Door County Medical Center, has been a significant partner in the community, and the free concert is our way of saying thanks for coming to us for your care,” said Kevin Lukes, director of marketing at MDCMC.

Exhibits with health information, including MDCMC’s next series of Art for Health classes, will be open in advance of the concert. Complimentary desserts and beverages will be available during intermission.
