A Final Season for Topelmanns’ Hanseatic Art Gallery

The Hanseatic Art Gallery is opening for a final goodbye season this summer.

Artists Ellen and Karsten Topelmann were fixtures of the Door County art scene for nearly five decades. They established Hanseatic Art Gallery in 1971, creating a destination for people to see and appreciate the beauty of Door County and special places from their travels around the world.

Ellen died in 2016, and Karsten died in February after painting in his Ephraim studio through his final days. This summer, their children Lars and Lisa Topelmann will open the gallery for one last season to celebrate their work, with the remaining oils, watercolors, acrylics, prints and cards available for purchase by art lovers and friends.
