A Golfing Tradition Returns to Northern Door

After a two-year hiatus, one of Northern Door’s most popular golfing events will resume at the Peninsula State Park Golf Course in Ephraim.

The golf benefit, previously sponsored by Good Samaritan Society–Scandia Village, will return July 17 under the new sponsorship of the Sister Bay Lions Club. For 23 years, this daylong golf outing has provided fun, food, prizes, camaraderie and a golden opportunity for players from near and far to give back to the community.

The Sister Bay Lions Club will continue this tradition, beginning with the 2022 Lions Golf Benefit, and all proceeds will be donated to a long list of Northern Door causes that the Lions Club supports. The club is celebrating its 70th year in the community and its history of supporting more than 30 nonprofit charities, organizations and causes through various fundraising events, which will now include this golf benefit.

Players will enjoy a round of golf at Peninsula State Park Golf Course, a cart, individual and team prizes, food available on the course and a sit-down dinner at The English Inn to close out the day. They’ll be contributing to a great cause and having a great time doing so, which is perhaps why more than 120 golfers have made this event an annual excursion.
