A Painting Day

“Blood Moon” by Craig Blietz

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will host a reception for Exhibit III on July 19 from 4 – 7 pm. Exhibit III features Craig Blietz, Gretchen Klug, Kristine Martineau Gellerman, Marcia McDonough, Jim Rose, Stephen Gartner and Danielle Blade. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the gallery courtyard, and the featured artists will give short talks about their artwork at 5 pm. Exhibit III will be displayed through August 6.

Blietz’s work is a reflection of his rural environment and suggests much about the relationship between animals and the parallel to human behavior.

Klug will have a new selection of her distinctive and stunning palette knife paintings.

Gellerman will introduce a new show of pastel paintings and has the impressive ability to accurately capture objects and light via pastels.

Inspired by the birth of her two sons, McDonough created her own jewelry collection, Mack & Bancker, culminated by her love of antique jewelry and modern design.

“Dahlia” by Kristine Martineau Gellerman.

Glass artists Gartner and Blade will feature blown and sculpted glassworks, inspired by natural elements, that combines their individual ideas, techniques and experiences.

Rose hand builds furnishings inspired by early American furniture and historic quilts.

Also, the Plein Air Painting Day at the gallery is July 22, 11 am – 2 pm. This event is part of the Peninsula School of Art’s Annual Door County Plein Air Festival. Refreshments will be served and visitors are encouraged to stroll the gallery grounds and watch the plain air painters at work.
