A Prescholar Tea Party

On Feb. 7, the students of Northern Door Children’s Center’s Prescholar preschool classroom capped off a week of lessons on fairy tales and make-believe with a “Prince and Princess Tea Party.”

Inspired by learning the story of Cinderella during literacy-based Spanish lessons, the children expressed an interest in learning more. Classroom teachers Kerry Merkle and Samantha Charles developed plans, projects and celebrated the learning experience with a formal tea party.

The girls wore their dresses and crowns and the boys sported ties and vests. They gathered to drink “tea” (juice), eat cheese and crackers, and practice their nicest table manners.
