A Reading of Bar Code in a Bar

On Tuesday, June 23 at 8 pm, the poets and writers of Bar Code – an anthology of saloon stories from Little Eagle Press – will gather forces at the AC Tap on Highway 57 between Baileys Harbor and Sister Bay; and there, they will give a reading the likes of which the County of Door has never seen before.

Published in 2008, Bar Code is the illegitimate brain-child of Door County poet Ralph Murre. Murre will play host to the evening and may grant a brief open-mike session for other bar-related poems or extremely short stories – after the Bar Code contributors have had their say, of course, and depending upon the hour and general surliness of the crowd.

In the event of good weather the reading will take place on the deck outside. Join tourists and locals alike as they hunker down to hear stories of sloppy bar tops, smoldering cigarettes, dusty light setting on broken beer bottles, and that ever-exquisite experience of everyone’s local small-town bar.

The AC Tap is located at 9322 Hwy 57, Baileys Harbor. For more information call 920.839.2426.
