A Valentine’s Day Moon Walk

During a brief workshop on Feb. 8 from 10 am to 12 pm at The Ridges Sanctuary, learn what geocaching is and how this popular high-tech game got its start. Afterwards, use GPS units to locate several caches hidden along the sanctuary trails.

Bring your own GPS receivers, if possible, but some units are available for use during the workshop. Appropriate dress and warm footwear is advised.

Take a naturalist-guided Moon Walk through The Ridges Sanctuary on Feb. 14 at 6:30 pm. The full moon will provide plenty of light while strolling the trails at the sanctuary. After the hike, enjoy hot beverages and a blazing campfire. Dress in layers and wear warm hiking boots. Bring a small flashlight if desired.

The cost for each event is $10 per adult for Ridges members, $13 per adult for the general public, $5 per child. Advance registration is required; to register call 920.839.2802. For more information visit RidgesSanctuary.org.
