A Visit from China

Linden Centre

Jeanee and Brian Linden, owners of the Linden Gallery, announce a new travel experience at their Centre near Dali, in Yunnan Province, China. “Spirit of Travel” is a 13-day cultural tour from Oct. 8 – 20 that will explore the spiritual traditions of Yunnan, a diverse region of more than 25 different ethnic groups.

The Lindens invite travelers to join them on a journey into Asia’s spiritual past – where daily lectures by monks and scholars are followed by visits to ancient temples, mosques, cathedrals and sacred mountains. It is in the Dali basin that the spiritual traditions from South Asia and the Middle East collided with the greater Sino-Tibetan religious beliefs. The result is one of the most vibrant spiritual environments in the world.

Cynthia Barnes Johnson, a well-traveled retired Unitarian Universalist minister, will lead the trip. The Spirit of Travel will take place in Yunnan Province, with the majority of the time spent in a nationally protected villa in the small historic village of Xizhou. The Centre is housed in the elegant former mansion to one of the Southwest Silk Road’s leading merchants.

Learn more about the “Spirit of Travel” from Frank He, the Linden Centre’s Executive Manager who is now visiting the county from China. He will speak at the Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay on Oct. 4 at 11 am. For more information call 920.854.2487.
