A World Marketplace in Door County

The Door County community is invited to shop for fairly traded gifts, house wares, accessories and other hand crafted items from artisans living in developing regions around the world on June 24 at 6:30 pm at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay.

The 3rd World Marketplace is an outreach program of Shepherd of the Bay in collaboration with SERRV, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating poverty, and MayaWorks, a fair trade nonprofit organization that promotes economic development for Maya women and their families.

The World Marketplace will also feature hand carved spoons from a small coffee cooperative, Los Cucharitos. The spoons come in a variety of shapes and styles; some from prunings of the coffee trees and others from prunings of the hardwood shade trees.

The sale will be part of the opening day celebration of the annual Olde Ellison Bay Days. In addition to the sale, the annual talent show and ice cream social will be held at the church beginning at 6:30 pm.
