Abe Cohn Featured at The Potters Wheel

Ripped Lip Vase by Abe Cohn.

Recently glazed stoneware vases, plates, bowls, and mugs by Abe Cohn will be featured and available for purchase at The Potters Wheel Gallery during Labor Day weekend.

Cohn is a Door County Master Potter whose first Fish Creek summer studio opened in 1956. Cohn’s work is widely collected and praised for vigorous textures, altered forms, and rich complex glazes.

Cohn has worked through some health issues and the loss of his wife and partner, Ginka, to produce a significant body of work for the first time in several years.

Cohn wishes to thank his son Jonathan for assistance in preparing glazes; and Cohn thanks John Dietrich and Chad Luberger for firing his pots.

Potters Wheel Gallery is celebrating 57 seasons and features Door County pottery and soundworks by John Hansen; porcelain by Joanne Kirkland and Gail Russell; and functional stoneware by Scott Frankenburger and Royce Yoder.

The Potters Wheel Gallery is located at 3915 Gibraltar Road (across from the YMCA) in Fish Creek. The gallery is open daily (except for Thursday) 11 am – 5 pm.
